Speech Language Therapy

Hello Ripley Central School families! My name is Mrs. Christina Akin, and I am the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for our school.

I have the wonderful job of helping students become confident and effective communicators. In the speech room, we work on a variety of skills, including practicing speech sounds (articulation), building vocabulary and grammar (language), learning social skills, and speaking smoothly (fluency).

For our youngest learners in preschool, I am a big believer in giving them the best start with communication as early as possible. This means you will often see me in the preschool classroom, leading songs and planning activities to help improve language, articulation and communication skills. By working with students in their natural learning environment, we can help them build important communication skills while they are interacting with their teachers and peers.

My goal is to make learning fun and to create a supportive space where every student feels empowered to find their voice and share their ideas.

When I'm not at school, you might find me spending time with my family, camping, taking my dog for walks, reading, and cheering for the Buffalo Bills!

I am so excited to partner with you and your child this year. Please feel free to reach out to me at cakin@ripleycsd.org with any questions!
