Welcome to RtI with Mrs. Blair!
I’m so excited to work with your child this year! This is my 24th year teaching, and I still love seeing students grow and learn every day. In my free time, I enjoy reading, going to the beach, and spending time with my husband, our two children, our dog, and our cat. I also love everything about The Titanic! I have been to two of the four Titanic museums in the United States. I’m looking forward to a wonderful year together!
This year in RTI, we will focus on improving both reading and math skills. I provide instructional support in our primary classrooms and during intervention times throughout the school day. I'm very excited to introduce students to our new vocabulary program this year- Wordly Wise.

Academic & Curriculum Focus:
Reading:
In reading, we’re working hard to grow our reading and vocabulary skills and learn high frequency words! We’re building our reading stamina to get ready to start reading chapter books. We’re also learning about the differences between fiction and nonfiction books and how to identify the special features of each.
🌟 Key Goals
Increase Fluency: Develop students’ ability to read text accurately, quickly, and with proper expression.
Expand Vocabulary: Build students’ knowledge of word meanings and usage.
Strengthen Reading Comprehension: Teach students to understand, interpret, and respond to what they read.
Foster a Love of Reading: Lifelong reading habits support academic success and personal growth.
Math: Our focus is building math fluency—especially in addition and subtraction—to build confidence and success in all later math learning. Students participate in classroom lessons, small groups, and also have time for individual practice!
🌟 Key Goals
Accuracy: Students solve addition and subtraction problems correctly.
Automaticity: Students recall facts quickly without counting strategies.
Flexibility: Students can use multiple strategies to solve problems efficiently.

Homework Expectations:
Reading: Read for at least 15 minutes each night and log it in the reading log. Practice high frequency words.
Math: Practice math fluency daily. Document all completed homework on the homework log.
