It was so wonderful to see everyone back this week! Our students and staff have settled back into their routines after spring break. We have been absolutely loving this warmer weather, and it has been such a treat to get the students outside for some fresh air and sunshine.
Our Ripley students have officially kicked off this year’s Hit the Trails and Parks Program! To get started, classes took a hike around the school campus, exploring the areas by the baseball fields and the creek. This hike counts as the first of five area parks or trails needed to complete the challenge. All finishers will receive a medal and a certificate, and they will also be entered to win grand prizes like new bikes and helmets. Last year, two of our very own students took home brand-new bicycles! Parents are also entered to win one of five $50 gift cards from a local grocery store. This year, the program even includes a bonus Bingo Challenge for those interested in adding some extra excitement to your outdoor activities. You can find the QR code on the flyers sent home with your students, or you can fill out the following link once you have completed your five selfies at each park sign or landmark: https://form.jotform.com/260565475078163.

In the classroom, our 5th and 6th grade students worked incredibly hard taking their NYS ELA assessments this week, and we are so proud of their effort. Next week, it will be the 3rd and 4th-grade students' turn to complete their ELA assessments.
Finally, please be sure to check out the Mother’s Day Hanging Basket flyer that was sent home today. There are two great options available, including a beautiful mixed hanging basket for just $20 or a gift certificate of equal value. Year after year, we are amazed by the exceptional quality of the flowers from Harvest View Greenhouses, and every purchase supports the RCS PTO to benefit our entire school community. Order forms and money are due back by Friday, April 30th.
As a reminder for your calendar, Friday, April 24, is an early release day with student dismissal at 11:00 am.
Additionally, with the arrival of nice weather and an increase in student pick-ups being walkers, please remember that all walkers must be picked up at the designated Walker Line out front of the school by the playground.
Have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll see everyone on Monday!
