Dear Families,
It was a productive and eventful week at Ripley, and we truly appreciate everyone’s patience as we navigated a small hiccup with the 5th-grade math testing. Fortunately, students were able to get back on track and resume their assessments this past Thursday. Looking ahead to next week, the testing schedule remains busy; 5th graders will be taking their science tests on May 5th, while 6th grade students will move into their math testing on May 6th and 7th.
We also want to extend a huge congratulations to our 6th graders who participated in the Patriot’s Pen essay contest. This year’s theme was "How I Show Patriotism," and we were honored to have Dave Bower from the Ripley VFW join us to present the awards. A special "hats off" goes to Addy, who earned third place and a $50 cash prize for her hard work. This spirit of achievement fits perfectly with our recent wrap-up of Perseverance Month, where many of our Crew meetings focused on the inspiring ways students have shown resilience and determination in their own lives.
As we look toward the end of the school year and into the summer, please remember to send in your registration forms for Eagle University. This fantastic six-week program is designed to foster a love for reading and prevent the "summer slide" by keeping students engaged and having fun. Eagle U will operate three days a week and includes breakfast, lunch, and transportation for all participating students. It is a wonderful opportunity to ensure our students have a blast while staying sharp over the break.
Please keep these important reminders on your calendar: The PTO Mother’s Day basket pick-up is scheduled for May 6th from 2:30 pm to 3:45 pm at the Large Gym Entrance. Additionally, please note that on May 15th, students will be dismissed early at 11:00 am to allow for staff development. Finally, May 19th, will be our annual budget vote from 2:00-8:00 pm along with our annual Art Show and Book Fair.
Have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll see everyone on Monday!
