Dear RCS Families,
Fifth graders had a terrific Tuesday at Mission Meadows! Students spent the day rock climbing, swimming, and participating in team-building challenges. But the best part of the day wasn’t just the activities—it was watching our students step outside their comfort zones, try new things, encourage one another, and discover what they are capable of! Every student gave each activity a try, showing courage, perseverance, teamwork, and so many of our Leadworthy Character Strengths along the way!
Kindergarten headed to Presque Isle where they participated in a nature hike that ended at the beach, where they explored local plants and animals. They even spotted a beaver lodge and wild turkey!
Looking ahead to the end of the month, we’re excited to announce our Spirit Week will be taking place during the final week of October in recognition of Red Ribbon Week, the nation’s largest and longest-running drug-use prevention campaign. The themed spirit days will be as follows:
· Monday 10/26: Red-y to Live Drug Free – Wear Red
· Tuesday 10/27 Tropical Tuesday- Wear your best island/beach gear!
· Wednesday 10/28 Wacky Wednesday- Dress mismatched, backwards, crazy hair/accessories, etc.
· Thursday 10/29: Dreams Come True When You Stay Drug Free – PJ Day
· Friday, 10/30: Too Scary for Drugs! – Halloween Costumes
Afternoons have been filled with excitement as students rehearse for our upcoming musical, Shrek. We invite you to join us on November 19th at 6:00 PM in the gymnasium to celebrate their hard work and creativity. From singing and acting to set design, our students have truly brought this production to life!
As a reminder, school picture day is Monday, October 19. Bring your smile!
Have a great weekend, and I’ll see you on Monday!
