Dear RCS Families,
Second grade had a great adventure to Harvest View this week and spent some time enjoying fall activities!
VFW 2769 visited with 6th grade students on Thursday. They donated basketballs, volleyballs, soccer balls, and footballs to each student to promote their goal of more outside activities. Thank you for your service, and thank you for continuing to serve your community.
As a reminder, we will be participating in a Spirit Week from October 26th - October 30th in recognition of Red Ribbon Week, the nation's largest and longest-running drug =0use prevention campaign. The themed spirit days will be as follows:
Monday, 10/26: Red-y to Live Drug Free - Wear Red
Tuesday, 10/27: Tropical Tuesday - Wear your best island/beach gear!
Wednesday, 10/28: Wacky Wednesday - Dress mismatched, backwards, crazy hair/accessories, etc.
Thursday, 10/29: Dreams Come True When You Stay Drug Free - PJ Day
Friday, 10/30: Too Scary for Drugs! - Halloween Costumes
We are excited to announce that our Halloween Parade will take place next Friday, October 30th, at 10:30 am! Families and community members are welcome to watch along the sidewalk on the Post Office side of Rt. 76 or across from Meeder's on Main Street. A map of the parade route is included for your reference. If you plan to take your child(ren) home following the parade, please send a dismissal change note to school by Thursday, October 29, so students can be ready for pickup at the main entrance. Students without a note will be dismissed as usual. Thank you for your cooperation, and we look forward to celebrating this festive event with everyone!
There will be a haunted house experience at the Ripley Public Library on Friday, October 30th, at 5:00 pm. Additionally, on Saturday, October 31st. RCS families are invited to participate in the parade beginning at 5:30 pm followed by costume judging and trick-or-treating at the firehall. Thank you to our community partners for making this a fun and safe weekend for our families.
Have a great weekend, and I'll see you on Monday!
