On Friday the PK3 class talked about how a crew is a team. All of the PK students wore their new Blue Shirt Friday shirts and certainly looked the part. A big thank you to the community organizations that made this possible (Connect Gen, Meeders, and the RCS PTO).

Dance practice for this year's musical has begun! The students will be performing Disney's Aladdin Jr. Aladdin Jr. is a one-act, eleven-scene theatre musical adapted from the 1992 Walt Disney Animation Studio film. Our scholars are excited to bring this story to life!

Red Ribbon Week came to a close on Friday with the students wearing their Halloween costumes to school because "drugs are scary". Red Ribbon Week takes place each year from 10/23 to 10/31 with the mission to help keep kids drug-free. Participation rates were fantastic!

On Friday, the Ripley Volunteer Fire Department visited to share some Halloween and Fire Safety tips with our students. The students learned that firefighters are our friends and helpers. A big thank you to the volunteers that made this possible!

Kindergarten started their new unit in science. They made a "Garbage Garden" to see what happens to garbage and food from their lunches after being buried in soil. This is part of their study of human impact on the environment. We will check back on the items in a few weeks!

RCS third and fourth grade students visited Chautauqua Lake CSD for a swimming adventure yesterday. Many of them shared that this was the best adventure ever. Our students are fortunate to have these partnerships and resources available to them!

Second grade students planned, designed, and built pollinators during science this week. They tested their work to see if they were able to successfully transfer "pollen" (flour) from one plate to the next! Great job scholars!

Things got messy during PK3 speech and OT enrichment time. Scholars used shaving cream to cover the fire and squirt bottles to "extinguish" it. Students also practiced using the /f/ sound for "fire". These scholars did a great job strengthening their hands and articulation.

During Mrs. Miller's Community Service recess, students created positive messages on the sidewalks, and also helped the building and grounds dept. by raking the leaves by the playground. Great job scholars!
