Grade 3 began the next topic in science titled "The Circle of Life: Life Cycles and Traits". Scholars will explore the entire life cycle of the Painted Lady Butterfly and will release them when they reach adulthood. Students are doing a great job caring for their caterpillars!

Grade 4 students dissected flowers during science today. They identified the individual parts and their functions. We are more than ready for the flowers around the school to bloom. Think Spring!

The PTO will be taking orders for Mother’s Day Hanging Baskets for the next two weeks. Hanging baskets are available by order for $20. Orders will be available for pick up the week of May 5.

Fifth graders have been learning all about Earth's water systems during science. They finished up their latest unit by learning about the water filtration process and experimented with various filter designs. Great job scholars!

Grade 2 students were pushed outside of their comfort zones yesterday (3/2) with a skiing adventure. Students were patient, respectful, and very attentive to their instructors. Students helped each other as they navigated the bunny hill. Great job scholars!
PK3 is celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday AND their first day without masks! Students were encouraged to dress as their favorite storybook characters today. Great job scholars!
Students at RCS began Read Across America Day with a delicious breakfast of green eggs and ham. I love them in a jar. I love them on a car. I love them with a fox. I love them in a box. Do you like green eggs and ham?
Grade 4 students participated in a virtual field trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee. They learned all about the forces that move the Earth and how erosion, volcanoes, and weathering help to shape our planet. Ranger Syd was a wonderful adventure guide.
We are celebrating School Bus Driver Appreciation Day today. We trust the drivers to safely transport our greatest treasures to and from school daily. A big thank you goes out to the entire transportation department for the role they play in every students education at RCS.

Students in grades 1, 3, 5, and 6 went on a tubing adventure to Peek’n Peak today. This was the first tubing experience for many of our students. It’s always nice to observe students when they are faced with a task that is outside of their comfort zone.
Second grade took initiative on Wednesday to pick up trash that blew onto campus over the weekend. They filled three bags and even found one of the town banners that hang on the telephone poles which they then returned so it could be rehung. Thank you for showing such leadership!
