
5th grade has been learning about coordinate systems in math class. Today we practiced naming points using coordinate pairs, and then plotting them. Students enjoyed using these new skills to play a game of Battleship! Students thought strategically and had fun while doing so!




The Boys on the Right Track running program held their 5K event in Buffalo on June 9th. The students enjoyed the beautiful weather, making it a perfect day for the run. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the running buddies who made this event truly special for the boys.




The Community Service recess group planted pumpkins during their recess yesterday. RCS students will enjoy the fruits of their labor at the end of October. A big thank you to Knight Farms for donating their time, energy, and land for this project!

The 2nd graders demonstrated remarkable determination as they completed their printing handwriting books yesterday. Today, they began practicing introductory cursive skills to prepare for 3rd grade!



Kindergarten had an awesome time with their 6th grade buddies! They showed grit on the bikes and the 6th graders were amazing helpers, so patient and kind. A big thank you to our sixth grade buddies for making sure we safely made it to the the Ripley Town playground.

This morning, the following students were recognized for their outstanding character and scholarship. Great job, scholars! Keep up the good work!


To celebrate Better World Day, RCS 3rd-grade students decorated pots and planted zinnias. On Thursday, the kids packed up the plants and delivered them to Absolut Care in Westfield, hoping to brighten the residents' day. Great job scholars!


Our Grade 5 students had an adventurous day at Lakeside Golf Course! Their grit and natural talent were on full display. It was inspiring to see them overcome challenges and improve with each swing. Great job, everyone! #GolfAdventure #StudentGrit #ProudTeachers




Grade 1 students had a great time exploring a world of towering rocks, deep crevices, passageways, and small caves hidden in an ancient, moss covered forest. Panama Rocks was a highlight of the year and students used their grit and perseverance to make it through the entire hike.




Grade 2 went on a mini golfing adventure today. The weather couldn't have been any nicer for their trip.




Grade 5 celebrated finishing all three State Tests by making a big breakfast together. Great job scholars!




The following students were recognized for their scholarship and character this morning following the morning announcements. Congratulations for having your Eagle Wings pulled.


Grade 6 students from Ripley visited local cemeteries to honor veterans and assist in preparing their graves for Memorial Day. Guided by a representative from the VFW, the students carefully marked the graves with American Flags, paying tribute to those who served their country.




RCS 5th grade students participated in The Battle of the Books this past Saturday at the Chautauqua Institute. We fielded two teams of 5 this year. The Barnyard Readers and Novel Ninjas did a great job of answering trivia questions about the 12 books they read in preparation.

Mr. Morton visited and brought his tortoises today. Students learned that many Native American people look at a turtle's back as a sort of calendar, with its pattern of 13 large scales standing for 13 moons in each year. The kids had a blast!

Mother's Day hanging basket pickup will be tomorrow, Thursday, May 9, 2024 following dismissal.


The first Friday of May is Better World Day at RCS. Each year students complete service projects to benefit their community. Grade 6 created cards in preparation for World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on June 15. These cards will be distributed throughout Chautauqua County.
