Our 4th graders have successfully completed their state tests, and we celebrated this achievement with a fun activity. Students participated in an outdoor scavenger hunt! It is important to recognize the hard work and dedication our students put into preparing for these exams.

Today is Better World Day! I am impressed by our Kindergarten students project. They made suncatchers and personally delivered them to our neighbors living at Absolut Care in Westfield. The residents were delighted by the gifts and touched by the children's thoughtfulness.

This morning we held a School-wide Crew celebration. We recognized several classes for their outstanding attendance, school spirit, and nightly reading. Additionally, I want to extend my warm congratulations to William Skinner for raising over $500 for the Kids Heart Challenge!

5th and 6th grade students are currently studying rocketry. To help illustrate the concept of thrust, students were given the opportunity to construct and race balloon rockets. This hands-on activity helped students better understand the principles of rocket propulsion.

All of our students in grades K-6 received brand new books from the United Way on 4/28. Volunteers from the community visited to pass out books and read to the students. A big thank you goes out to the United Way as well as the community volunteers.

Second grade has been learning about weathering. Erosion is the geological process in which earthen materials are worn away and transported by natural forces such as wind or water. Last week students made volcanoes to see how Earth's surface sometimes changes quickly. Nice job!

PK3 student read "The Three Billy Goats Gruff" and then had a surprise visitor! Dawson's mom brought his pet goat, Taco. Taco was excited to meet new friends at school. This was a real hit with the kids and made the story even more fun.

Fifth and sixth graders used a ton of grit during their Adventure to the Flying Squirrel jump park today. Adventure can be any physical, artistic, or academic experience that involves risk, challenge, and discovery. Great job scholars!

Grade six students are one step closer with their transition to middle school at CLCS. Each of the students demonstrated a ton of grit to master the dreaded combination lock. Locks will be added to student lockers so that they can hit the ground running in the fall.

Second grade had a great time on their skiing adventure! It was a first for everyone and required lots of Grit! Getting pushed out of their comfort zones wasn't easy but the smiles show it was worth it. Great job scholars!
